I personally have no problem with off topic threads being on the main board. I support the decision to have to recent discussion (mud slinging) moved to the off topic section. Not because it was off topic, but because of the content. We must remember that the main board can be viewed by anyone. All offensive threads should be moved there.

I somewhat agree with you, although I can see both sides. Part of me says "Why move it?" while the other part can see that what you've said makes sense. I think overall I'd say keep it where it is originally but have no problem with stuff being moved and would not object. That being said, we're all adults here. We hear worse than this at work, tournaments, social outings, etc, etc.

Kid's aren't growing up with no respect because of message boards. It's the parents who leave parenting to computers, XBOX's and television.
It's also the school system. There is a lack of accountability everywhere. No failing grades, no losing scores (in sports), no getting their ass kicked for saying something out of line. Everyone now is sheltered and hidden from reality and consequence.
I can see both sides of this Dave so I'm not arguing with you or Rob. I agree with both sides of this discussion for different reasons.

Here's my opinion on Eric's question.
I don't believe that an off topic forum is necessary unless the topic gets to the point where it becomes abusive or offensive.
So abusive to each other and offensive to others.
Besides that I don't care if you talk about the queen, MP3S, or how much you guys love each other, just not the other stuff.

So if something was offensive it should be moved.. BUT it's fine to post a reply like this following the offensive comment right? " That is too funny Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha lmao" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HypocrisyNice move by our Canadian Vice President by the way. Extremely classy act for someone of your "status"

So everybody's forgotten the reason this new board was started? Didn't it have something to do with the flame wars that were going on?
Eric, in response to your question, I'd say that the off-topic forum wouldn't be necessary if people expressed their dislike for each other via pm instead of publicly on the board. Not everybody gets along with everybody else all the time, it happens, but as a couple of people new to the sport have already pointed out, it looks bad on us when it goes on on the message board that represents our sport here in Ontario.
