Hey Ian,
I see that there are no women's classes, is this a typo or are there no classes for women?
thanks,
Ashley

Hi Ashley, this tournament is actually mine and Chris Gobby's. I did contact Ian and he is now going to be onboard as well.
It has been purely overlooked in regards to the women's classes. This is the first tourney I've actually ran so bare with me ;D
What weight limits should I set up for the women Ashley?

Well to be perfectly honest Jerry the weight classes should be set up basted on a few things.
Past attendance, I know I'm shooting myself in the foot, but I also understand that this is an important factor.
Location, are people willing to travel there?
Timing is very important, your event is one week after Nationals so who will want to travel and compete that close to a big event?
Joey and I have discussed it but worlds is not long after your event and Nationals is just before.
I would like to be able to attend all the events, but it's not always going to be possible. To answer your question I would say open right and left. Thanks Ashley

My brother and I held a tourney here in Prescott in 2007. Well, actually it was ran by Eric Roussin and John and I just chose the venue. So, past attendance is hard to go by, but I remember it being a decent turnout. Crazy George and Rick Baarbe were in attendance that day too. Brian Tamblyn beat Troy Eaton in a best of 5 supermatch with it going all 5 rounds.
I feel the location is pretty centralized. It's halfway between Belleville and Montreal and only an hour south of Ottawa.
I chose the timing for the event because many Ontario and Quebec pullers won't be attending Nationals simply due to the fact that it's going to be very expensive to fly out to BC and also I'm giving the pullers the opportunity to sneak in another tourney before the next scheduled event 2 weeks after.
This event will be 2 months before Worlds so I don't think that timing will be a factor.
I will add women's open right and left to the lineup.
Thanks for your input Ashley.

Tamblyn/Eaton was a BIG TIME supermatch! I was thrilled with it being the main feature of the final EOA event.
The match actually served as a qualifier for the NAL/Vyotech Las Vegas event to be held at the Mr. Olympia. The winner was to be the Canadian representative in a 4-man invitational challenge to determine who would get a title shot for the 185 lb NAL belt. Unfortunately, that event fell through.
This match was sort of a changing of the guard. Troy had pretty much been recognized as the best 198 lb puller in Ontario for the previous few years, and Brian has held this recognition for most of the time since this match.
