2015 is an election year for the OAA Executive. Elections will take place at the Provincial Championships on October 17th for the positions of President, Vice-President, Referee-in-Chief, and Secretary/Treasurer. The only position among these that has any formal requirements is the Referee-in-Chief, who must be a CAWF Master-level referee. The newly-appointed Executive will then appoint a Director of Communications. Elections are for two-year terms.
Note that I will NOT be seeking re-election this year. After being a part of the Executive for nearly 8 years, my interests have changed and I am no longer willing to devote the time and effort to the position that I once did. Anyone can run, but I would LOVE to see some of the newer armwrestlers who have developed a passion for the sport step forward and run.
As a member of the Executive, you will have a vote in all OAA decisions. If anyone has any specific questions about what being a member of the Executive entails, please contact me. The short answer is that your involvement is what you make of it.
