I would like to keep the novice class pretty green. There will be a lot of local green horns trying their luck. So if your guys are green no problem, if they have some experience, they will have to pull the open class. By some experience I would say have been practicing with a club regularly, or pulled 2 or 3 tournaments. Hope this helps. Also if you fell they would clean up in the novice, then they probably dont belong there. Know what I mean. You will partly have to use your own discretion. We are trying to keep the novice fun and somewhat non experienced.

Steve I would figure with one whole tournament under your belt, you would be safe in the novice. It will still be a tough class.

i got a few guys that are goin to come down from shitty falls with me for the amature class...im thinkin this is goin to be a little bigger then expected for the ams class...and dan i faced him at provincials and with his left hand it was a fast hard hook hit....felt like mostly side pressure...all aubin faced him last feb and he cought him with a quick climb..with the right hand

Weather permitting - there could be 7 of us from Montreal (well - 3 of them live 100 km away - but they come to practice every week). 3 plan to enter the Amateur class - a few months ago, they didn't know what a hook or a toproll was.

Just want to clarify, this is not an amature class. It is a novice class. Amature is really a step above novice. Last year I pulled amature. I could not have ever pulled novice.

I'm pretty sure its a 198 event Bill. Most (if not all) events in Ontario follow that weight limit.
On that note, I do believe that the 198 class will have a good number of entries.
