The award went to John Milne over Chris Gobby, left handed.
Awesome match indeed.
Other finalists.
First runner up...
Jacob Windover over Dave Linton
second runner up...
Dave Ferguson over Jeff Penney
That was the shared opinion of scorekeeper Rebecca Lyons and myself.
What do you think?

There were a lot of great matches. I think good matches that happen later in the event have a better chance of being selected as the match of the day. I think one thing that made the Gobby-Milne match special was the fact that it was left handed -- the arm for which Gobby is best-known, and the arm for which John was undefeated in the Western Hemisphere prior to the event.

Mr. Gobby .. You have yourself a match! ... provided Mr. Gould feels it suits his tournament. It would be an honor to pull you Chris and I would very much like it to happen in Belleville too. Joe's events rock. ... hmm, now onto figuring out how to pin Mr. Gobby in a hook

I enjoyed the Slater Penney right handed match.
I think Slater is an amazing armwrestler and he is very capapable of pulling off huge wins. Penney had his number the last couple of times, it was nice to see Slater even the score. This match wasn't a war per se , just a very good match from a technical standpoint.
