I was curious what people thought about workout before or at an event. I find when I do a workout before a practice I have more control and engage way faster. I was toying with the idea of bringing a dumbell to an event and doing a workout to see if there is change. I also find more power toward the end of workouts also. any thoughts I welcome any.

It's my opinion that most pullers are rarely "fully warmed up" at first match. Getting blood flow to muscles can be done quickly. But tendons and even more so ligaments takes longer. The reason u feel stronger after a considerable amount of time, is at that point u have full blood circulation. I beleive getting on the table for 4-5 straight minutes w a teamate, progessively increasing resistence can be good enough. Then keep upper body warm. I'm usually at my strongest after I ve gotten 2-3 good matches under my belt. Which tells me I should warm up more. I beleive this is common with defensive pullers and grinders (they pull harder through elbow ligament). Hitters, on the other hand (from what I've witnessed) want less of a warm up, so muscles fibers are fresher for reaction time and explosion.... I've noticed this is very individualistic. Devon, from what I beleive (b4 a big s match) will do no warm up. However he ll make sure is body temperature is very warm. Great question by the way.

I'll keep that in mind.
