A number of people have enquired about how the kids/youth classes will be arranged at Nationals. I've been in touch with Lise Blanchard, Head Scorekeeper of the CAWF, and have been able to confirm that the classes will be arranged as best as possible based on participation levels. Being that participation in the kids/youth division can vary considerably from year to year, it is difficult to set formal class parameters. However, I've been assured that the classes will be arranged as fairly as possible and there will be an opportunity for parent consultation. I can say that it is probable that younger kids will probably be divided by age for the most part, and older teens will be divided by weight for the most part. I'm sorry I can't be more specific. I can tell you that there are awards for 20 kids/youth classes, so there will be no need to create large classes (i.e. 5 year olds will not need to compete against 10 year olds).
