Arrived safely in Kazakhstan. I flew with Scott MacInnis, Fred and Debbie Roy, Lise Blanchard and Andre and Kristy (spelling?) Leduc. A couple longer than usual waits but all in all it was good. Oh, you can't step 3 feet in Kazakhstan Airport without being asked if you want a taxi by no less than 10 people!! At the same hotel as many many armwrestlers.
Having a great time, the scale of this championships is an eye opening experience!
Saw Osmanli and Lilliev the day of weigh ins and registrations.
Pushkar is absolutely MASSIVE, but there's a guy from India who looks d**n near 7 feet tall and he has to be the biggest guy here. Hopefully as the tournament goes on I'll find his name, wow he's huge!
Day 1 Canada took a gold from Sylvio Bourque. Day 2 Sylvio took second and Dave Hicks easily won another gold!
I don't have the list of official results or anything but I'm just going off memory here.
Long busy days, short sleeps, good times.
Oh, the driving here is absolutely bonkers. Yes, I just said bonkers. It's completely normal to have cars 3 wide in 2 lanes. Everyone's honking at each other but I don't think it's in anger, it's just to let the other drivers be aware of their location. I couldn't drive over here.
The air quality is as if a big diesel bus just drove by you...almost all the time. Meh, the old Russian architecture makes the buildings look cool.
Toodles. Yes, I just said toodles.
