The location of next year's Provincial Championships will be voted on my OAA members at this year's Provincials in Barrie on May 5th. I encourage anyone who's interested in putting on this event to get in touch with me or to post on this thread. Prior tournament organizing experience is a requirement. The target date for the 2013 Provincials is May 4th.
There is a $300 OAA sanctioning fee for hosting a Provincial Championships.

A couple of people have inquired about what is required in order to put in a bid to host the Provincials. The first step is to express your interest prior to this year's Provincials, so that you can be added to the ballot. A formal proposal is not required, but if you're interested in hosting you will be given a few minutes during the Annual General Meeting in Barrie to talk about any event details you wish to share. You can prepare a written proposal and share copies of it to OAA members prior to the meeting if you want, but it is not a requirement.
OAA members in attendance at this year's AGM will vote on the location of the 2013 Provincials location.

If people know of someone placing a bid for the provincials in 2013 but can't attend this years provincials can they vote in advance on this site for that person? Joey has already expressed his interest in hosting it next year and I would like to support him. Just wondering what our options are.

The location of the 2013 Provincials will be determined by those in attendance at the 2012 Provincials. However, if anyone has an idea and wants to put forth a proposal on how this process can be amended going forward, the AGM is the place to do it.
