With the five regional circuit tournaments out of the way, this is how the points races look: www.ontarioarmwrestling.com/puller_of_the_year_standings11.htmlwww.ontarioarmwrestling.com/team_standings11.htmlwww.ontarioarmwrestling.com/region_standings11.htmlJoel Goodsell continues to maintain a 5 point lead in the Male Puller of the Year race over three-time winner Shea Dickie. With the level of talent at the Provincial Championships, anything can happen -- it will be interesting to see if Shea can keep his title for the fourth year in a row. Janet Riehle will win the Female Puller of the Year title for the second year in a row, and the third time overall. Mathematically, Team Almighty could catch up to the Buckhorn Arms, but it's not looking likely. It looks like Central Ontario, powered primarily by the Buckhorn Arms, Team Collingwood, the Durham Arm Machine, and Lafontaine Locked and Loaded, will win the title of Ontario's Strongest Armwrestling Region for the first time.

Under the old point system, you're right. However, the way points are counted for the Team of the Year changed in 2010. Now, only the top five finishes count for points, plus one point for every team member who competes. At the Southern Ontario's, Team Almighty had four first place finishes. The team also had two second place finishes. So the five best finishes came out to a total of 24 points (4x5 + 1x4). Since you had nine team members competing, the total was 33 points overall.
One of the reasons for the change in the point system was to allow smaller teams a better chance to compete.
