I just got off the phone with Maksim. There are already 50 entries after this evening's registrations. This is a great indication that tomorrow's event will be a big one! See everyone there!

Mark Zalepa won promoter of the year, Joel Goodsell won the iron man award, I got 5th place 242's. I think the 4 finalists were Dan Kadlec, Eric roussin, John milne, and Tamblyn. Great win for Tyler Robinson over Jeff slater in the 242's

Dan smashed me once again.
Dixon, he may be just too big, tall and strong for me. I'll continue my hunt but this may be one guy I never end up getting.

I'm not sure but a good candidate for that would have been The Beast Robinson vs. Jeff Slater.

Upset of the Day was awarded to Sarah Wilson for her win over Chantal Leduc.
There certainly were a number of upsets from which to choose.

Instead of forming a new thread I thought I would use the Provincials Update for this.
First off, Thank you to Maksim for the Incredible event that he put on. Hotel Great, Event Room Great, Event Great. Reffing ehh not bad, LOL, Just Joking, Reffing was stellar!! As I have already told them. Brackets were Great, although Barb and I could not understand what was taking so long to get started til we caught Mark gazing at his new inductee trophy like it was a mind control device/
Secondly I would like to congratulate all the winners and recipients of some incredible awards and acheivements. Great job and hats off to your hard work!!! Sara Wilson wow!!! Huge day!!!
Thirdly way to go to all the people who took time to compete and throw it down this past weekend!!! So many new faces and so much competition it was a ferocious event that had match after match of dramatic proportions. Upsets, and respect!!
Fourthly I would like to thank all my team mates for the time and commitment this past year, practicing and hitting tournaments to achieve the points and the determination to win that made this a great year!! I feel like the ball started rolling at Nationals and has kept rolling!! I was "tear in the eye proud" this past weekend!! You guys rock!!
But mostly, and I was talking to Eric about this last night, I want to thank all the Teams and individuals in Ontario in this sport who have taken the time to Teach, Coach, Mentor, or just be friendly to us on a unique journey I have felt since we started. When we jumped into this at the end of 07, early 08, going to an OAA Provincials meant donating our money and taking two losses and watching other teams take most of the awards home. I was not jealous or envious, but I wanted that. Over the past 4 years we have hit most events, and travelled to alot of pracitices with other clubs. We are usually last on the after pulling table. And we rarely dont have practice. Few of us are consistent in the gym, but most have construction/blue collar type work. I have plans to get into the gym more as the next level is not far away. Practice is our playground. We take the things we have been blessed enough to glean from our friends in the sport and grow and nuture it. We are blessed quite often with guests who come and learn with us and bring knowledge with them.
THIS IS THE BEAUTY OF THIS SPORT!!! When we succeed, everyone succeeds!!! Cause everyone helped us get where we are!!! Ontario Rocks!!! We have the best armwrestling base in the world, and if we will take the time to teach and learn, we will benefit from it exponentially. We have a great President leading us down to the Executive, Referee's, Promoters, Pullers.
I can't say thank you enough to the Incredible Teams we have in Ontario for taking the time now and in the future to share new and old information to us and others. Lets grow this Province into even more of a force!!
Thank you to Port Perry Armwrestling first and foremost, Thank you also to Belleville Armwrestling, Team Collingwood/ Barrie, Team London, Ottawa High Hookers, Durham Arm Machine, Team Almighty, Team Havoc, Sudbury, Golden Horeshoe, Lafontaine Locked and Loaded, and anyone else we may have so mistakenly missed. Thank you for taking the time. And we hope to do unto others as you have so graciously done unto us.
Love you guys and gals!!
