Congratulations Devon.
Once again you've proven your mental and physical strength. When in battle you never seem to falter, it's amazing to see really. Sure a 4-0 match would have been easy to watch but you had us all standing up and holding our breath while you went to the brink with Mr. Bresnan. You figured out a way to win in against a very formidable opponent who was much larger and looked like he was stronger than you.
You are a champion but most of all you are OUR champion. You constantly represent us (your team, your province and your country) at the highest level and you have never failed us. You are without question THE MAN. I for one am extremely proud to call you a team mate, a countryman and most of all a friend. You inspire people around you to be better than perhaps they should be or could be. You show us the way to become that better person and athlete by your dedication, strength, heart and character.
I'm well aware the risk of posting such a thought. I've been called it all before but I really don't give a fvck. Sometimes things need to be said regardless of how others will think or cast judgement. What you did last Saturday was incredibly inspiring. You keep the fire burning in all of us by just being the man you are.
I can only hope that age won't catch us too soon, I'm having too much fun driving the War Wagon. I'll be old before you my friend but I'll keep fighting with whatever fight I have in me to become the best I can, thanks to you.
Thanks for it all (so far) Champ.
