I would like to see left and right handed classes especialy for the bigger kids. Once they get older we will want them to compete with both so we should encourage it now. Joey

The youth classes for Provincials will soon be decided on. Does anyone have any final thoughts they'd like to share?
This is my preferred option:
12 and under:
Mixed - 0-60 lbs Mixed - 61-85 lbs Mixed - 86-110 lbs Mixed - 111+ lbs
13+:
Boys - 0-130 lbs Boys - 131-160lbs Boys - 161+ lbs Girls – 0-130 lbs Girls - 131+ lbs
I think this is the option that best addresses the differences that exist between young/old, big/small, boys/girls.
However, I know there is also support for just five classes per arm, divided by weight, with boys and girls mixed together (as has been done for the past couple of Provincials. This makes fewer classes, but does not address the differences between young/old, and boys/girls. These classes are simpler, but not necessarily fairer.
Please chime in, especially if you have kids.

These classes get my vote, but I think we should have right and left hand classes for every division.

Eric...i think you (along with Gripplers ) suggestions best address all aspects of the Kids/Youth. My boys like to pull but are only 11 and 13, but heavy built and for them its hard to try and pull someone who's already transitioning into becoming a man and not a kid. Hope the input helps. )

What is the teen's age limit going to be? 18? I read at the WAF level the junior division will or may go to 21?

For Provincials, at this point I don't think the age limit should be any higher than 18. I actually prefer 16 or 17, but we should probably stick with the limit used at Nationals.
