Just looking to see if anyone has any advice or has experienced this issue?
Last week I had a very painful and annoying injury. On my right forearm about 3" up from my wrist I noticed a slight swelling and a really irritating pain that feels like a knife or sharp object in my muscle. The doctor says Tendinitis but didnt do an x-ray or anything other than feel my arm and said I should quit armwrestling and the gym. I was in a Splint for the better part of a week and took Advil and lots of ice. Its been a week and the exact same pain is still there. Any advice or experience/suggestions would be greatly appreciated since I do not want to be out permanently
Thanks, Ryan

My best advice is to find a qualified and forward thinking doctor. Your doctor is a tool. Find one at a sports therapy clinic, they will help you get back in the game (I suspect yours is a GP).

I had tendinitis in both my wrists and elbows from powerlifting before I started arm wrestling. I don't have tendinitis anymore. I'm pretty sure it was all the sports-specific training that healed me.

Ryan, if it's more there is a dr. in london who is doing prolotherepy which will heal the tendon's and atachment points ,the area is injected with a form of glucose, this promotes the healing and strenthening of the tendons , takes 4 weeks no restrictions of use but it burn's like hell , no worse then your pain now , it can be a permanant repair , no scar tissue , calcium in the tendon dissapates as you heal , side effects are the pain goes away and tendon is 40% stronger then preinjury, you will need it checked , it costs 180$ but no surgery.

I have had it before , no fun ,if you keep pulling ,all you do is agrivate it . Some times a constant load on the injury will over come it but you have to be able to endure alot of pain . The prolo works very well Ryan .

Its been about three weeks since my initial injury and ive been 4 full days with out any pain. i was very tempted to pull with it on sunday at practice but controlled myself and only stretched lightly. I had an appointment with my doctor yesterday for a check up and he says to try it out and see how it holds up.....little bits at a time. Here's hoping

I'd get someone else to take a look, and then get a 2nd opinion! I had a partial tear in my right bicep tendon that was misdiagnosed as tendonitis, and a few months later it completly tore and needed surgery!

The arm is coming along great! I'm testing it for the first time in competition at the BOTA Championships in Truro,NS on Dec 15th.It should be 100% by the beginning of the new year hopefully.
