Are you in favour of cutting the Ladies' Open classes from 7 to 4 in right and left. The vast majority of ladies' classes have no more than 2 entries and many times have been empty. The classes would be as follows: 60kg, 70kg, 80kg, 80+kg

Yes as long as there was a good method in place for qualifying pullers for worlds.

I was told that there was virtually NO option of keeping all of the weight classes for women competitors and although i see that there have been several polls on the matter; it seems that the decision is pretty much made.
I don't disagree that women's numbers need to improve, and perhaps the 4 classes will look different for this upcoming Nationals, but i am NOT in agreement that this be a permanent change without giving women in this sport the opportunity to express what they feel the sport needs to grow. We need a female voice at all tiers to salvage what we have and to grow it further. There are women out there with amazing ideas and are willing to be involved. Cutting classes is not the only solution and a serious change in attitude about this can happen if we foster conversations inclusive of women's input. The premise of the idea is to talk about solutions rather than simply saying "nothing can be done"; there are always solutions when passionate people get involved!
Despite the debate, i'm proud to say that my female colleagues remain passionate about this sport and armwrestlers in general would like to see our numbers grow aswell; i'd hate to see the numbers further plummet, due to lack of opportunity as set by weight classes! It's time to talk...
