In the May issue of Macleans magazine they featured an article on icing injuries and how it not only doesn't help much, but may actually slow the recovery process considerably. In fact, the man who created the RICE principle is quoted in the article saying that he was wrong and icing isn't the way to go. I've found this to be the case with armwrestling soreness. I've got a bean bag filled with barley that I heat up in the microwave and it works waaay better. Anyway, this article is a very interesting read and can be found on their website.

I found that flushing works the best for your arm. Fill 2 sinks with water. One as hot as you can handle and the other ice cold. Put your arm in the hot water for 3 minutes then cold for 1 minute. Repeat 4- 5 times.

It gets the blood flowing and flushes the free radicals. I had a message therapist tell me this years ago and it works. It's more of a pain relief. If you flushed your arm it would feel better. However you'll still need proper rest before training again.
