Meeting with the ever changing demands of todays mobile user, inthehook has a new mobile interface. If you browse to mobile.inthehook.com , this will give you a simpler more direct inthehook experience. You will still be able to browse through videos, rankings, ask the champ section, off the hook and profiles. This link is also available on the main www.inthehook.com website. Also, inthehook's videos from this day on will be smart phone compatible. This means that the videos will be readily viewable on your iPhone, iPod Touch and Blackberry.

Any feedback from a mobile user would be greatly appreciated.

Jerry, I just tested this on my blackberry, truly awesome! Although I suggest those who want to view the videos have a rather plump data package. Also, have you thought of twitter integration or a blog? This is great stuff, and I think arm wrestling should go with the wave of change in mainstream technology. btw, I seem to be having issues with playing movies. I have a blackberry flip 8220, anyone else having issues?

There seems to be a compatibility issue with playing videos using the Opera mini browser. When I use the native blackberry web browser I am only getting audio.

I didn't think of a twitter application or a blog due to the fact that it won't keep changing often. Sure, there will be changes but they are within the main links of the video section.
Not having a blackberry or an iPod Touch / iPhone , the testing phase is a little harder for me. I tried it on my buddy's Blackberry Bold and although it played some mp4 files, others gave errors and it didn't even see the flash video from the Quebec tourney (North American Championships).
But, from now on, as the first post stated the videos will be encoded to be able to be viewed on the mobile devices. Past videos might be converted, depending on how much time I have and / or if I think it's worth the hassle.
Previously, the videos started (back in Nov. 2006 for a bit) as divx avi format. Quality was great, but too many people didn't like to wait for videos to load up and many not having codecs (to see video instead of only hear audio) and also many not knowing what a codec even is, I started encoding the videos in wmv format which is readily available from microsoft and also has streaming potential. I then just very recently switched to flv format (flash video like youtube) which plays fast and loads fast. I then became aware of the issue of not being able to play the aforementioned formats on some mobile devices, so I found that mp4 plays on everything and retains good quality for the main user (desktop user).
Still trying to debug things but without owning such a device, it's not going to be an overnight thing.

Thanks for all your hard work Jerry, I misinterpreted the original text and thought that past videos were converted to a mobile phone format. I am looking forward to this!

I had previously converted all the Ask The Champ vids to mp4 format but a friend with an iPod Touch told me that the vids were not playing properly, so I deleted them and re-converted them to Mpeg4 H264 format and the first one I did, my friend had told me that it worked.
So, I re-converted all of the Ask The Champ vids to this format. So, all the Ask The Champ vids should now be playable on an iPod Touch or iPhone and I think the Blackberry also plays mp4 format so it should be all good now.
