91 entries at the first DAWT (Destroyers Arm Wrestling Team) tournament held in St-Jean, Quebec. Results that I could remember (I should have written them down). Eric/Chris/DAWT - can you add/correct?:
160 R: Chris Gobby. 190 R: Tyler Wilkinson(?) 220 R: Antoine Dubreuil. Open R: Denis Dubreuil. 160 L: Chris Gobby. 190 L: Alexandre Levesque. 220 L: Open L: Eric Roussin (or was it 220 L?).

Eric took 1st left 220 plus. And Cam Clark took 2nd. Amazing trophies and venue. It was a great turnout for a Quebec event.

Our outdoor practice site in Montreal (the trees provide enough protection in a light/brief rain): maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=fr&geocode=&q=Rue+Drake,+Montr%C3%A9al,+Qu%C3%A9bec&sll=45.312805,-73.266449&sspn=0.066395,0.109863&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Rue+Drake,+Montr%C3%A9al,+Communaut%C3%A9-Urbaine-de-Montr%C3%A9al,+Qu%C3%A9bec&ll=45.459875,-73.58192&spn=0,0.003433&t=h&z=18&layer=c&cbll=45.458736,-73.582094&panoid=TqcrvXL5SeMck-6MxJcUnw&cbp=12,91.92,,1,1.68

This event was a great success. Dave Daneault and Marc-André Campeau did a terrific job with their first event. The awards were unique, there were lots of draw prizes and the venue was perfect. The matches were being broadcast on most television screens throughout the restaurant, so you had a good view of the action regardless of where you were sitting or standing.
I think there were 91 entries, which is huge for a Quebec tournament. No event held in the province in recent memory has had such a high turnout. There was a mix of old and news faces. Clarence "Hand of Steel" Hislop was in attendance -- I hadn't seen him since around 1997. He competed throughout Ontario in the '80s and '90s. The organizers have plans for bigger and better things for next year -- hopefully more pullers from Ontario will attend (St. Jean is only 20 minutes from Montreal).
I'm sure full results will soon be posted, but here's what I can remember:
Right 160
1st - Chris Gobby 2nd - Mario Bolduc
Mario won the first match against Chris. Chris managed to come back through the B side and beat Mario twice in the finals.
Right 190
1st - Alexandre Lévesque 2nd - Tyler Wilkinson
Both are phenomenal hook pullers. Tyler was impressed by how strong Alex's inside really is.
Right 220
1st - Antoine Dubreuil
The eldest son of the "Dragon" will be a force with which to be reckoned in the coming years. I gripped up with him after the event, and he has his father's hand and wrist (not quite as strong yet, but I can't wait to see how good they'll be in a few years). He flashed everyone.
Right 221+
1st - Denis Dubreuil 2nd - Christian Bernard 3rd - Eric Roussin
Biggest class of the day (14 entries). My two losses were t0 255 pound Christian. He got me inside the first match (he is very strong in this position). I managed to isolate his wrist in the second match, which lasted about 20 seconds, but then made a bad adjustment which allowed him to suck me back in and pin me. I really need to develop Joe Gould/Allen Ford hitting capability. I didn't get a chance to pull Denis -- I think I would have had something for him.
Left 160
1st - Chris Gobby 2nd - Mike Roy
Left 190
1st - Denis Dubreuil
Left 220
1st - Laurent Charbonneau 2nd - Dave Daneault
57 year old Laurent played with everyone in ths class. Impressive.
Left 221+
1st - Eric Roussin 2nd - Cameron Clarke
Cam and I were pleased that the two High Hookers in attendance took the top two places.
All in all, a very enjoyable event, and it looks like armwrestling popularity is on the rise in la belle province.

Hey Braden,
Of course I'd like to have more matches with you. I want to try and beat you know before you get too strong!
We have great practices in Montreal. I'm sure you would enjoy it, and I know we would. Just like you, we're always looking for new arms to arm wrestle with.
