Congrats to "the Golden Boy" Matt Goldfarb for a big win over Dan "Beef" Goyette, left handed, at the Trudeau Park May 2-4 Armwrestling Championships. 4 first place wins to boot! Nice job!
I just trained with him, and he's never been stronger. What a phenom!

I gotta say again, I think this is a huge win!
Some know Beef and some don't, for those that don't, he has a very good left arm. He was Canadian Champion in 92 or 93, the year our Nationals was on TSN. He is unranked right now, but I would put him somewhere between 5 and 7 in the 243+ left in Ontario. I personally think he would beat Garvin Lewis.
This Trudeau Park tournament is very unsanctioned. They don't follow CAWF rules and regulations - straps, how about duct tape. However it's been going on for years, and, Beef is legendary there. He had won the event for about 8 straight years till the Golden Boy dethroned him. Good on ya Matt!

I agree -- a left hand win over Beef is a great win.
For an experienced armwrestler, the Trudeau Park event is quite a different experience. Their rules are a little shakey, but the atmosphere is a lot of fun. I attended once circa 1999 and won the left in the 200 pound class. I felt a little bad toprolling my opponents. Most didn't have a clue what I was doing.
I haven't seen Beef since June 2008. Hopefully he'll come out to Ribfest.

WOW.....Nice job Matt..Wish I went with you again this year. Last year I met up with Matt for the tournament and watched him dominate his way up to "Beef"...they pulled left and right with Beef winning with all the control. Then Matt goes back this year and is the MAN....Awesome.
Hey Golden Boy next time you plan on doing something like this let me know it would have been great to have it on video..

Hey thanks for putting in good words Joe  was pretty fun!!!!!! I will attend for years to come .....hopefully stay on top lol ....I wish i was more active and training more but since i pulled at your house Joe i messed up my left arm pretty bad its still bugging me i deff tore a tendant  gonna hop on the horse here soon and get back into it more i hope ....And tony i wish u came i had nobody to go with again and an extra ticket i bought because all my friends bailed and screwed me over lol |
