At the Gloucester Fair this past Sunday I wasn't able to stay for the open tournament, but I was able to stick around for the kids competition. There is a lot of upcoming talent:
In the under 50 lbs boys and girls category, 5 year old (maybe 6?) Kamalie Langlois took first place. My three year old son Mattéo took second in a field of four competitors.
Liam "Gryptonite" Carnegie took his class in an amazing final against one of Mike Roy's sons. This was a very good centre of the table match. Both of Mike's sons have impeccable technique and if they stay at it, I have no doubt that they will be very competitive when they grow up.
In the boys and girls 13-14 year old category, the two girls whipped the two boys. Sophie Clément (Ivan Clément's daughter) made it look easy.
As for the open classes, I have a bit of info:
Yves Drouin won the right 221+ class. Antoine Dubreuil won the right 199-220 class. Mike Roy pulled multiple left hand classes and won most of them.
Hopefully full results will soon be posted.

Well Griptonite may not have impeccable technique like Mike Roy's sons but he did win none the less at 8 years old if he stays into it I have no doubt that he'll be very competitive. Even with inferior technique. LOL!!! I take myself to seriously but really he's boys look extreamly well coached!
Joanne's Daughter has amazing technique as well!
On a side note Liam was able to place second in the strong man competition just behind Mikes oldest son and right in front of a 14 year old
well done daddies proud!

Nice,
I remember when my son Jarrett won the Canadians in NB. Still makes me tear up when I see the pictures.
