2011 Provincial Championships

The location of the 2011 Provincial Championships will be voted on by OAA members at this year's OAA Annual General Meeting, which is being held on July 10th in Mississauga at the Provincial Championships.

Anyone who is interested in hosting the 2011 Provincials is encouraged to contact me directly, or preferably to post their interest on this thread by June 26th. Prior tournament organization experience is required.

With next year's Canadian Championships being held in Ottawa, the 2011 Provincials are sure to be a huge event.

I am interested in and very excited about hosting the 2011 Provincials in Belleville.

Some details...

Rebecca and I are working on a proposal that will see the event held at the Ramada Inn. This venue has indoor and outdoor pools, a hot tub, sauna, waterslide, and restaurant. It's a very nice place overlooking the Bay of Quinte.

I plan on having some unique prizes, medallions for 4th and 5th, and masters classes will be offered. The event will be ran on two tables. Kids classes will be offered as well.

That's all the details I have for now, but I will have a full proposal at the Provincials AGM.

I as well am interested in hosting the 2011 Provincial Championships.
It would be held in Woodstock. I would have Scott from Armsport Videos there to stream live and tape.
I would run one table with four refs.
I am unsure of the awards as of now but I am positive that I will come something that would be worthy of a Provincial Champion.

team thunder and team havoc are also interested in hosting the 2011 Provencals with my and Jason's years having or helping others in maybe small in some minds but hi number tournaments we said we want to move it around so that will take your vote so vote Bruce county and havoc will buy you a beer ;D ;D

Mark Zalepa has decided that given what he has on his plate with the other tournaments he is running, he is no longer interested in running the Provincials in Woodstock in 2011.

This means is looks like the Provincials will be in either Belleville or in the Teeswater area. All pullers who attend the Provincials in Mississauga on July 10th will have a vote.

The 95 Provincials were held in Alliston,ON and the 96 were held in Kirkland Lake, ON. I think it's only fair that the 2011 Provincials be held in Bruce county since the Nationals will be held in Ottawa that year.

Thanks for the correction Rob. I've updated my post. Do you happen to know the locations of any of the Provincials from before 1995?

1992 - The Ontario Championships were held in Sutton, in August. They were hosted by Gene Tatti.

!989 & 1988 - The Ontario "Open" Championships were held in London, in February of both years, and hosted by The London Armwrestling Club.

!986 - The Ontario Championships were held in Barrie, in November, and hosted by Gene Tatti.

At this Provincials it was voted that Joe Gould will host the Ontario Provincial Championships in Belleville in 2011.
