I have been in weightlifting for over 10 years, and I usually heal from a very hardcore workout in 2-3 days. With arm wrestling, it seems my tendons take a week plus to heal.
Is this normal if I've just started training for arm wrestling?

There are small capillaries in the tendons, so it takes weeks/months (as compared to days for muscles). When I started, I had excruciating pain, and could only handle 2 or 3 practice pulls before having to stop. It was brutal! Joe remembers- it lasted 8 or 9 months before becoming a more tolerable pain. It sucked- I couldn't learn much at all in my first year because I'd always have to stop after a couple of pulls. Former champ Mark Kelly recommended lots of vitamin C for tendon recovery/collagen production, and it seems to help....

I can remember taking Glucosamine Chondroitin at the start of my armwrestling practices. It helped a lot. I'm not sure on the pros or cons of it in regards to tendon growth / collagen production but it definitely helped with the pain.

Thanks for the replies guys...
I'm going to literally be overdosing on vitamin C....
Arm wrestling is a passion for me and I'm falling in love with the sport...I would like to pull every weekend if possible, without having to suffer an entire 6 days until the next time I pull.
Pain is excruciating 2-3 days after the pulling.
