WARNING: top roller may not want to read this. Something to consider Bilal. Today's table (compared to table 10 yrs ago) is designed more towards hookers. The UAL and ARMWARS, the two biggest pro leagues have(are) implimenting rules geared towards "tough battles inside" with less flash pins and elbow fouls. This is to make it more spectator friendly. A rule such as... ANY TYPE OF SLIP will result in straps. A rule that greatly favors the hooker. People want to see 2 bicept heavy, red-faced, sweat drenched dudes at war in the center of table... Not flash pins and ugly a** finger climbing by 2 guys built Like chartered accountants!

Bilal, if you want to watch a very good high hooker look at some of Eric Rossin's matches. He almost exclusively uses this move and has great success with it.

Jeff King was talking to me about Eric's high hook in Saturday's practice. It looks like he's almost at a disadvantage in the starting position?

He will sacrifice arm position in order to set his hand position. He does this vs hook pullers... Very effectively.

It's a great move to have Bilal. But I'm sure it took Eric years to refine. An experienced puller like Eric will usually know when and vs who it can be used. At practice try all positions... There is no way to know now what type of puller u will be in 5 years. Another thing to consider, Eric will exploit a shorter arm with his def high hook(counter hook). His Forearm is fairly long. I beleive it might be a tough move for u to use frequently... As I beleive ur forearm is shorter than most of ur opponents.

...also, this is a move manipulated mostly by leverage not raw strength. I once tried this move against a forth grader, DIDNT WORK, he hooked me in!.... No biggy, I called his mom a whore and kicked him in the teeth. Things seem to always workout in the end

Why do I have the feeling that Mr. Gobby is anti-everything-not-hook?

I honestly don't think I come off so narrow minded . I've praised the high hook, and Eric's counter hook. I respect pullers that can dominate with their top roll (ie Guy on a good day). I just beleive that for me, considering all the genetic factors, it's all about the inside game. I also realize that trying to be one dimensional, might b working for me now... But in time, could be something I regret.
