At this year’s CAWF Annual General Meeting (held at Nationals) Provincial heads will discuss their experiences with the alternate start command of “DON’T MOVE, GO”, rather than “READY-GO”. From the discussion I remember following Mark’s October event where this command was used, I don’t think there was a clear consensus. Does Ontario want to support a proposition for this rule to be changed? Should we test the command at another event?

For god sakes YES!!! Ready go SUCKS!!! Dont move Go, Hold it there, Go Whatever as long as Go is a single command and not a complete freakin sentence starting with Gentlementakeyourgrips, backtowhite, lowerontheknuckle, holdittherereadygo.

In my limitted experience I have found that "ready go" causes alot of early starts. I will say that if there is a pause between the ready and the go, then it makes very little difference to me what is said before the go.

I agree with guy's statement. Even though im new to the sport, being the token deaf guy, its sometimes hard to decipher the clustered "start" command, esp when the ref's say the whole sequence in one fast paced mono-sentence lol.
Just the deAf guy's two cents haha

Eric, no and no. Stop trying to fix stuff that is not broken. Take that energy and put it into somewhere else, like getting Al to shave his dubey beard. That made Mark's tournament slower as well...more false starts!!! Why is this a fundamental no brainer? Why does ready go suck?? Does Guy think he will get a bigger trophy if we change this?

Simple Jason. Way too many matches are dictated by false starts that go undetected. Like ur "mentor" and "personal idol" Guy said... Ready go is too easily tied together. with Don't move... Go, if a puller is too fast.. It's more evident. However I'm not holding my breath that the change will be made soon.

Here is my 5 1/2 cents on this . When someone has to make the call ready go / hold go/or just go there will be people who don't like it thats just the way we are. So and here are my 5 1/2 cents Worth Arm wrestling has not changed to much sense the beginning of time and it's time to get are heads out of the box and think of new thing in the highteck rang or something as simple as a little green light in the center of the table that go's on and off with the touch of a button by the reff. just my 5 1/2 cents

Well I totally agree Chris. On paper it is awesome, I like it, BUT, it will become one word as well with 3 syllables eventually just like READY.....GO , which used to be separate, but WE forced it into one! You all know the scenario, 2 experienced pullers jockeying for grips, positions, etc they are going to try to anticipate the "go" , not wait to hear it. This will cause more false starts, more delays, less armwrestling, and more "boring" of the audience. "Can we just have some armwrestling please ?"When there is the cadence "readygo" it is like the tree at a drag race, and you are timing the go. Bill is getting warmer with his idea. I am not saying there isn't room for improvement possibly, but I don't think this is it. Buckhorners don't flop there wrist backwards I know ,but I see them walking around with their wrist flopped "forward" Gay...oops I mean Guy Never was good with vowels

I vote for the option with the fewest words. I also believe there should be a pause before the go. Good idea Bill, I think a light would be awesome and fair.
