I'm speaking of right handed but feel free to post comments, opinions of left as well.
These guys are already building up a nice rivalry, I'd enjoy seeing it set up. I really think the only variable is Shea. Dan is so professional and consistent whereas Shea seems to be either good or VERY good at times.

shea made it to first practise in a long time if he starts training again the whole room is in danger of a train wreak ok u 154ers are save but the rest of us better hope were not on the track with him he told me he is working out again also so that means we all better step it up or just retire

When Shea hits my class I'm pulling out. I seriously hope he doesn't get over 198's.
Almost limitless potential.
That being said I don't have an educated opinion on how this match would go. Dan is awesome and so is Shea. I haven't seen them compete enough to say either way. Hopefully more of Shea's team and Dan's team chime in here.

Dan all day with the right. Shea is a physical specimen, but he lacks the intangibles to be great. Dan has it all, and the proof is in his evolution (unless u haven't been paying attention).

... And John, Shea's potential IS limited. Dan Is a WAF World Champ. It's funny how people rarely talk about this.

... And John, Shea's potential IS limited. Dan Is a WAF World Champ. It's funny how people rarely talk about this. Everyone's potential is limited by definition. Shea's main limiting factors don't seem to be physical (which is what I was referring to). His physical strengths can take him quite far if he chooses to push himself. I could have worded it differently I suppose. Dan was a WAF Champ at a smaller weight class. He's now jumping up to where guys are stronger and larger. As you know sometimes it's better to stay in a class that suits your frame. Perhaps I should have stayed in 198's myself but I'm having too much fun battling the big boys. If I were to compete at WAF I'd need to drop weight to be effective I'm sure I enjoy watching Dan and have good respect for him. I'm aware how strong and technically sound he is. He's very professional (as I've stated) and will rarely make a mistake on the table. This does not guarantee a win though. Shea has that freaky strength and can be strong in areas where most of us are lost in the match. I'm just thinking this could be a good match to watch and am enjoying the buildup to this rivalry.

I practice with Dan often and he just keeps on building strength. His technique is flawless and I usually call him a pest cause he knows exactly where to apply the right pressure on me and it sucks. He's one of the best pullers pound for pound and I know he will beat Shea. Sorry Shea but Dan is too focused right now to be beat and personally I would love to see a rematch between Dan and Marlon Hicks. JMO.

Dan and Marlon??
Dan must have changed quite a few things up. Marlon really seemed to have Dan's number at Nationals last year. Is Dan planning on dropping back down for Nationals or staying heavier?

He did and that's why I don't think that Shea can beat him. Our team is bigger and our practices are more frequent. Dan had a good match against Cobra Rhodes and anybody who can give hell to Cobra is in an elite class in my book.

Honest to God somebody has to set this up!!!!! Where's Ian and the MLA on this? A best of 5 both Right and Left arm would make for a show itself!!!!! I can't believe nobody mentioned this matchup on the 2012 matchups thread. Killer!!!!!! The scary thing about this is these guys are both HEAVY HITTERS!!!! Dan may be focused but Shea is pi$$ed has a PYROCLASTIC FLOW when at the table. No disrespect to Dan but this is one locomotive he's not gonna derail!!!!!

for the record gobby, the only time dan has ever beaten me, I have pulled every class or more than one class. Props to Dan for being WAF champion but like others said that's in a lower weight class. You don't even know the aggression I have from you stripping me of my #1 ranking. Does anyone care to know what I weighed when he beat me? a mere 173.5 with shoes, sweater, wallet ect, I am much weaker when I over-cut, also weighing in same day I am less effective, @mgc I can weigh in Fri, pull sunday, boomshakalaka
