Topics for Discussion at OAA AGM

I’m in the process of preparing an agenda for this year’s OAA Annual General Meeting (being held at the Provincial Championships). There isn’t much space, but if there is a specific topic you’d like to see discussed during the meeting, or a change you'd like to propose, please let me know.

At the Provincials, I’ll also be handing out of survey to OAA members. There will be about 10-12 questions, covering things like what types of awards you prefer, what things you consider when choosing events to attend, how far you’re willing to travel, etc. This will just be a bit of market research which can then help Ontario promoters improve their events. Everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a draw for $30.

Hi Eric:
Before you do the survey. Could you List all of the events that happened in the last year up until Nationals, even the ones that weren't sanctioned.
Could they be listed with dates and location. The actual town is not important but how about making Hwy 400 and 11 the divider and using Muskoka and everything else north. So we would have the tournaments divided into North,West and East.
This would give us a good idea of where the events are and where they need support

There are likely other small tournaments held in various carnivals, fairs, etc., that I don’t hear about.

If anyone is aware of any others, please post them.

I’m pretty sure that more armwrestling tournaments are held in Ontario than in any other province or state.

There are alot of tournaments in Ontario that is for sure.
Sorry to ask this but can you tell me which ones are sanctioned and which ones are circuit.

Paddyfest did not happen this year. I have held a tourny at the Teeswater fall fair for the last 12 years though, last weekend in August on the Fri night.

I agree Buff, i am going to a tourney in thunderbay in July , just because of the bikini contest that's going on during tourney , that's the only reason I would make long 8 hr trek west

I know its difficult but id like to see 4 or 5 solid youth brackets that we use at all events. A lot of promoters are starting to run kids classes now and there always all over the place. I know it varies on participation but if we offer the same standard classes at all events it would be easier to promote and as a result the classes would be filled.
