Here's some of the details of this event.
The 187lb Pro Right Round Robin.
I know this class is not offered too often and there are plenty of really good 187's in Ontario. The round robin class makes endurance that much more important. This is $30 per arm, with 100% payout to the top 3. Plus, I will give $100 to the winner. I think we may see some brave lightweights in this class as well.
Supermatches I have no supermatches scheduled yet, but I would like to see some. If you are interested let me know.
More details are on the upcoming events section of the board. More details will follow - soon.

Supermatch
Left Hand Best 3 out of 5 $200
Jason Manjin vs Chris Gobby
I like this match for a variety of reasons. #1, they are both power hookers. #2, they are each putting up $200 - that is substantial.

I will give $100.00 to whichever of the two can get a win WITH a toproll!!!!!!!!!!!! Hehe. Hows that for sweet!!! Joe you can decide if it was a real toproll or a lame attempt. Death to HOOKERS. Not you Ottawa, just hookers in general. LOL All in fun.

Not sure why that link doesn't go directly to the story, but it doesn't seem to.
To get to the story, go to local sports - then sports briefs. It is pretty brief, but it gets the word out, and I think it sounds pretty good.

Hey Joe,
Sorry we never made it. George and I left at 8:30 this morning but the weather didnt cooperate. The 401 was down to 60 km an hour. At that speed I would of had to leave yesterday to get there on time. I hope things went well. Again I appologize for not getting there.
Regards Dave C

Another great tournament! Some highlights:
88 entries. Supermatch: Chris Gobby 3; Jason Manjin 0. Sorry I didn't note who won the 8-man 187 round-robin. (Shea Dickie?) I didn't finish last in the 154 R or L - I even won a match! Gobby took four first-place trophies - having several tough L and R matches with Maksim. The Grippler took down Rick H. a couple of times. An open, free, single-elimination tournament was held afterwards. I think over 20 signed up. Somehow, I managed to finish 3rd - losing only to Eric Roussin in the semis (who beat out Guy Windover in the finals).
Good reffing by Mike Gould, and John Milne (with Kerry Donaldson filling in when John was pulling).

Hugh summarized this event nicely. The day is a blur to me right now.
There turned out to be 94 entries excluding the 8 in the round robin (won by Allen Ford) and the 20 in the right hand overall.
The complete results are up in the results section of this board.
A big thank you to all the competitors who came to this event and made it such a success. Thanks too, to my refs Mike Gould and John Milne - great job, also Kerry Donaldson, Guy Windover and The Grippler for helping out as well. Thanks to John (again)and Jerry Milne too for filming the event and putting the matches on the big screen. And a big thanks to Rebecca - very thorough job scorekeeping and keeping track of all the little details.
When I got home and looked at the paper I was very surprised to see a nice half page story about armwrestling and the writers recent experience with the sport at Arm Melter 4. It was a nice surprise, and a good read. I was looking for it on their website, but the Saturday sports doesn't seem to be on there - so no link.
Shea Dickie won most sportsmanlike puller, but honestly, just about everyone could have won that award.

So many highlights it was incredible!! Joe and Rebecca you pair are the bomb for these events. Not enough credit goes to Rebecca for her behind the scenes work but she is a trouper and eats it up. Joe you are a great ambassador of this sport and promotion and another spectacular event. Buckhorn thanks you. Reffing was top notch Thank You Mike Gould, John Milne, Kerri and Grippler. The comraderie at this event was at the highest I have seen it in a while. All competitors were having a riot with Dickie definitely the loudest/funniest. Gobby you never cease to amaze actually toprolling several times throughout the day including supermatch. I knew you could. Jason your strength is freaky. Grippler vs Rick H was spectacular, good on ya Ian for such determination. Rick will be back looking for blood now I bet!! This could get good. Ottawa was definitely the dominate team with Eric and John Milne owning right hand in their categories. But I always learn the most by watching Alli-Doobie-Aubin The Teeswater Terrorist. He has no fear and the tricks are endless. Great day. Great day.

Awesome event! Thanks Guy... you and your son really brought ur "A" game. Its great to see how strong Jacob is becoming. Hugh Brodie had a great day... it seems he does much better vs heavier pullers! I was succesfull against Jason only because i was able to stay out of his power... it was an honor to finally get to pull him. Matt Goldfarb's potential for armwrestling is colossal. He was born with the genetics to dominate this sport... if he so chooses.

The Teeswater Terrorist ---- That made me laugh enough to almost spit up my milk! That is funny as hell.
I have noted how well Aubin is pulling lately. He is becoming a very technical and savvy armwrestler. (To me) he has made the biggest improvements in his game as of late. It seems he has really taken stock of his gifts/strengths and is going to make the best of them. Watch out for The Teeswater Terrorist. He has the determination and now the right direction. He will be an even tougher opponent in the time to come.
As always, not enough can be said of Chris Gobby. Holy crap, what a man. He took out the tough Mr. Manjin and then he got 4 first places. Maxim took wins off him early and in convincing fashion and looked like he was unbeatable. Somewhere Chris fired it up and took it all back... all the while looking very calm and confident at the table. He is a champion and only getting better. Props to you Mr. Gobby on an excellent day.
HUGH BRODIE!!!!! You won 3 matches I think??? You pulled awesome and kept your wrist in those three matches taking all via toproll!! Excellent work, your hard work and thinking at the table is paying off. LOOK OUT CRAZY GEORGE.... HUGH BRODIE IS ON THE WARPATH!!!!!
