I think Promoter of the year should go to. Big Luke has been a promoter for over 30 years, 25 years of that has been supporting the O.A.A. He has held 133 tournaments Sanctioned, circuited, provincials and National events. That's where my vote would go. Good pick Joey. Big Luke has been overlooked as of late and is an awesome promoter and a possible inductee to the hall of fame.

For the Murray Park award i would go with Mike Haigh, He brings in new pullers, he comes to most tournaments and goes around talking to everyone and giving them tips, shares his experience.. That is sportsmanship, defiantly an ideal candidate for the Murray Park award for sure!

I think the list is great Jason.
I do have to be honest about one thing and I hate to bust your balls Bilal but what do you care about how the system works, in the time you have been on this board you seem to have done more complaining then any armwrestling. I understand you are injured right now but what about before? Armwrestling is a sport of passion and dedication which for example the MGC is one of the hardest tournaments to win AM's or PRO's thousands of people have tried and failed but will continue until they are Victorious, might take a couple years might take 20 years but thats where the passion and dedication come into play. ? have you won the AM's yet talk to me about how many years it takes to win the class pls I am all hears. I do welcome you to the sport as I would anybody but I feel you need to put in a little bit more "TABLE TIME" in you seem to have lots of heart and dedication for this sport I would just like to see it not read it.

The process for selecting the winners of the Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Puller, Promoter of the Year, and Murray Park Memorial awards will be opened up to all OAA members present at this year's Provincials in Belleville. We'll be using a ballot similar to the one Jason put together. If there are any other nominations, please share them.
While I don't think there is a perfect process for selecting the winners of these awards, this is probably the best available option.

28 years this June to be exact Fayez!!!!! Have I been active all those years? NO!!! I was under the impression that their were not many entries on Saturday at the MGC. The masters classes were small. I asked Mike if it was okay to pull am's, he said yes! So I did!!! Mike has put up a ton of cash over the years. So I paid my entry fee to add some cash to the MGC payout!! Sorry if you and your Little buddy Bilal have a problem with that!!!! See you on the table in Belleville. Peace

Dude, I don't have to be a champ to know that rookie is a word thrown around pretty loosely in arm wrestling. I mean, do you see it as far that someone with 10 yrs of arm wrestling experience be competing in an amateur class? or that someone who would have 5+ yrs of experience get a rookie award? what would you call someone who has done it for a few months....a pre-mature baby? I do not intend to complain....I could care less...at this point, I just want to get better and be able to get over my injury. I'm just giving my 2 cents...everyone deserves a chance to share their opinions...you have an opinion and I respect it...but I have my opinions too, and I'm not shy about them either.

Interesting, haven't heard the name "Gus Bush" in awhile. Newmarket Twisters used to be a good active team. Hated grabbing Gus 's hand at the table!!!!!!!

Well I didn't mean it quite like that. I meant it in a more of a "Jason Manjin is more osome than Chuck Norris" kind of way.
BTW, very nice touch sponsoring the Arm Melter like you did.

I hope I can be nominated for rookie of the year next year maybe. Lol. Don't know much about all you guys yet ccuz I've only been to one tournament so far but I def think braden riehl or jake charles deserve the rookie of the year and what bilal said is kinda true its not really logical to give someone with years of experience a rookie of the year award lol.

Traditionally pullers with up to three years of experience have been considered for the Rookie of the Year award, but in most years the recipient has been someone with about a year in the sport.
