You're the one that started this post Guy! I didn't ban anyone from the board. I would've banned Chris years ago if I had the power to, lol! I suggest everyone take a minute and read the "Posting Guidlines and Disclaimer" section the top of the board posted by Eric Roussin. I didn't know anything about this stuff until I read your post here on the board. My only say was when I voted at the AGM, but apparently we don't even have that matter anymore. Since we're on the topic of the board I have a question. What happened to the OAA website?

So I gather the OAA membership is back to $30?? I also gather from the list of people with the area leads are OAA members? That's 92 people at $30 uhmm $2760.00..from this years Ontario's. So did this money go to cover the incentives? or was there money in the kitty for that? Heard through the grapevine that money was given to a couple of events that were not OAA CS events last year??..that was before Joey took over..What was the payout for the incentives from this year?..Are we starting from scratch?

I can provide some info on the website and the state of OAA finances (as they stood four months ago).

Regarding the OAA website. The site was up for renewal at the end of July. I had had a horrible experience with the web host and I felt it was necessary to switch to a different host. I was awaiting instruction on how the Exec wanted to proceed, but have not yet heard back. So the site is currently down, but I have all of the files. Once a new hosting service is selected, the files can be re-uploaded, or the site could be re-designed (which wouldn't be a bad thing).

Regarding the finances, the OAA account at the start of the 2013-14 season was lower than it had been the year before. The reason for this was that more incentives/sponsorships were paid out in 2012-13 than in 2011-12. Three events were sponsored by the OAA to the tune of $2,000 total (the Toronto Pro SuperShow, the MGC, and Nationals). With the Nationals being in Ontario, more puller incentives were paid out than in 2012 when the Nationals were in Vancouver. Looking back, the puller incentives for the 2012-13 season were probably a bit too aggressive, and this is my mistake. It didn't help that income was bit lower than expected, due to a lower average turnout at circuit events. It's also important to note that $10 of every OAA membership goes to the CAWF. With the 2014 Nationals in Ontario once again, the puller incentives would definitely have needed to be adjusted.

I'm happy to answer any questions pertaining to decisions that were taken prior to this year's Provincials.

We had this same problem where some inappropriate posts were moved to the "Non-Armwrestling Discussion" because this section can only be viewed by members that have logged in. You beat me to the punch Craig, I was wondering the same thing. I know I haven't received my incentives from last year yet. That's not the only money we didn't get, tisk, tisk, tisk!!!

As promised I am deleting my account on this board. My fate with the OAA is still in question. I never have sat well with bullies and I am not about to start now. If you think for one second I am sticking up for things SAID on this board you miss my point. Look back on my history with Chris Gobby, we never agree on anything. I just dont like it when bullies move in and manipulate things.
I would like my name taken off the AREA LEADS leadership. I have supported as many events as I was able and many I could not attend to support anyway. I am fearful of the direction the OAA is going at present. It is a direction it has gone in the past. Dictatorship is never a good thing.
Oh and Mr Hancock, one positive post, for the love of God, one positive, constructive thing to say, I know you have it in you!!!

Gotta say....WTF IS GOING ON?!?!?! This is how we go about "Promoting and Growing the Sport of Armwrestling in Ontario" Wow man, my apologies Joey but if you do not share the same views as the majority or entirety of the members of the O.A.A. then at the very least hold a meeting with the members to get us all on the samepage or at least sit down and have a discussion on the topic(s) I never ever paid any mind to the past "back door politics" posts made towards you, and up till this point had the utmost respect for you a d what you have done for armwrestling. But when I read on FB that Scott is thinking of walking away from the O.A.A. I had to see what all the fuss was about. In my personal opinion your not ruining the sport of armwrestling but it is the spirit of the sport that is suffering here. Your views and decisions here are more of that of a treasurer and NOT a president!!! Please, I am asking you, keep the peopleof this great sport in mind. Without them, you will merely be governing an empty association if it even is one anymore...wow feel sorry for the members of the O.A.A. getting the shaft here. See you @ the MGC
