If the members elected and support the Executive Committee then why are the tournament entries low and tournaments being cancelled?
Have all the puller incentives from the 2012/2013 season been paid out in full? We did receive ours (Thank-You) but we're still waiting for the prize money from Nationals. Is the OAA offering any puller incentives for the 2013/2014 season, or have the puller incentives been scrapped? Eric stated in a previous post that the OAA sponsored the Toronto SuperShow, MGC and Nationals for a total of $2,000. Will the OAA be sponsoring any pro tournaments this year?
I support editing, deleting or moving posts and banning people that don't follow the guidelines. Anyone can read the main part of the board without logging in. Every message board I've seen has these same guidelines.

In past discussions, most members agreed that holding three of Canada's biggest events within a 7 week period made little sense. Throw Easter into this same time period, and a number of people will really start to have to pick and choose which tournaments they attend. I know I will have some decisions to make.
I think it's a mistake not to change the schedule, otherwise the same situation is likely to persist for years to come. In my opinion, 2014 should be used as a transition year for the OAA schedule. 2014 would still have a Provincial Championship, but in the fall instead of the spring. True, there wouldn't be a Provincial Championship to serve as a qualifier for the 2014 Nationals, but no one at the AGM expressed a problem with this, and the majority were fine with simply requiring attendance at a single OAA event to serve as the qualification criteria (for 2014 only).
By better spacing these events, everyone gains.

With regards to the Gobby banning:
Most forum guidelines follow that he would have received an "infraction" or warning asking him not to make such comments again. That infraction will give him a demerit point...most forums require 3-10 demerit points before you issue a 1-7 day ban. Once the member is back from the one week ban, he's given a clean slate. After that, if he continues with said behavior, a permanent ban is put in place.
I'm windering if Gobby was put through this entire process, or did the admins find it necessary to skip all these steps and perma ban him on the spot? Also wondering if this is personal. I read Gobby's posts. Yes, they were rude. However, they are not worthy of a permanent ban. This is indicative of a personal vendetta and I'm also wondering if the new admins have had ANY experience moderating a board.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this.

I second Bilal. This permanent Ban thing is totally ridiculous.

I second Bilal. This permanent Ban thing is totally ridiculous. Completely agree. He was banned for personal reasons, not because of some swear words. Everyone knows it and it looks rotten.

I think it is funny when John and Devon go on the OAA board, on their cell phones, standing side by side in Devons garage, and chat with each other on the board! Get a job Ottawa!! Getting tired of signing your cheques!! Even Gobby has a job for pete's sake, nothing wrong with sweeping all day! In fact with his recent ban he has even more time to sweep!! On a more serious note, I think we need a OAA members meeting of some form in a hurry.

I fear this "conflict" will cause people to stop going to events because they refuse to support the OAA with all that's happening...I hope that doesn't happen and I hope that a meeting happens to discuss all these issues
P.S. ANY governing body in the world can be overthrown and if history has taught us something it's that dictators and dictatorships never last...food for thought
