Sorry Jeff, in order to keep accurate rankings and reference, my general rule is not to remove anyone. As long as you re active, you re ranked.

So Chris, I was just wondering how I lost the #1 spot after having it for 6 Months? I know I only beat Brian that one time but it was at the provincials so technically I am #1.
Unless your saying that even though I am first in Ontario in that weight class I didn't earn the rank?

Jeff, If u don't agree with your ranking and beleive u should be higher, please give me specific details why. If there its a legitimate error, I ll rectify it. In looking at your ranking.. Your dominant arm (left) is directly behind Maksim. Do u think u should be higher than he?? Right arm I can see a grey area. But like I said, I d need specific evidence in order to move u up. Simply asking to be removed is a weak argument and a disappointing gesture towards the principle of provincial rankings.

Unless your saying that even though I am first in Ontario in that weight class I didn't earn the rank? Thanks for the feedback Allan. This case is simply a judgement call on my part. If both u and Bryan meet in a super match or $$ event, both peaked... I truly beleive Bryan wins. Yes, u have wins over him in the past. I find however that there were other variables that came into play (ie draw, and/or he had a grind match prior). I realize you do not agree. It's an incredibly close call. I could easily be wrong, but judgement tells me otherwise.

Sounds like the making of the next supermatch. Allan vs. Brian!
I think the Hitman wins this one.

Ok but I am currently the provincial champ and the national champ, this change you made took both of these away from me on the ranking board. This is not good for me due to this being where I send potential sponsors to see for them selves, my ranking!!
Look I do see what you are saying but when a person competes at the provincials, Nationals or World's and ranks higher than someone they should automatically be placed higher in these rankings, otherwise what is the point? Your making it seem like wining at these events is not a true gage of ones skill!! Or your saying that the rankings are more about your opinion and less about reality. Look I would totally understand if I beat Brian at some small tournament but what you are doing is taking away the importants of winning at one of these events where everyone who signs up dam well better be ready to compete because this will effect your rankings!
I have won Nationals the last 3 years in a row and I have also won Provencals 3 times this is the first time I have been at the top of the rankings and you took it away from me! If I am not at the top than wtf am I doing? The only other way I can see this working is if you add another class 85kg or start taking in to consideration my placement in the other weight classes cause I have pulled in them all and beat many high ranked people!
I don't know I am just frustrated and feeling like I have accomplished nothing!!

I agree with Allen. He got the last win. The spot should be his. If Brian gets the next win, he takes it back. This NEEDS to be the MAIN part of the equation. Or I agree, why bother if it becomes totally an opinion based system. I know opinion has to be part of it sometime, but FACT should override, and it is a FACT that Allen got the last win.

Thanks Guy! Like I said If it is anything other that than a Provincial, National or World event I understand more things need to be considered but these tournaments should automatically be rank changers!!

Allen, because of the way the rankings are determined (no official mathematical formula; can sometimes change due to informed opinion), I'd advise against referring sponsors to them. I would, however, point them to your results at the Provincials, Nationals, and Worlds. These results will never change, and you will remain the reigning Provincial and National champion until you lose these titles. You can also let them know that you were voted the Puller of the Year.
Rankings should never be taken as the final word of a competitor's current ability.
The Mike Gould Classic should be interesting with the 187 lb class. Both you and Brian are able to make this weight. Throw in the other contenders at this weight and it's going to be great to watch.

Allan this is a 198 lb weight class ranking. You did not win the 198 nationals, Brian did. At worlds you pulled 187 not 198.
If titles are the essence of ranking position, please explain to me why Devon is ranked higher than present and former provincial & Canadian champions? Should Aslan and Dan be punished for not going to provincials (therefore losing spots to Joel etc..)?
Guy, if "the last match" is the determining factor.. You beat me in our last match. Oh, but i had 15 more matches in my arm at that point. So are u the better aw'er? If we were in same weight class should u take my ranking?
In terms of your sponsorship Al, your seeking sponsorship towards worlds I assume. Where you are a 187lb competitor. You are the best 187 right arm puller in Canada ( maybe uncontested). I don't beleive you need to sell your potential sponsors on being the #1 ranked 198 puller, when at nationals your the current 187 champion and you are intending to represent your country in that class. Therefore it's highly doubtfull that losing one spot on the weight class ranking that u DON T compete in (national/world) would cost you sponsor $$.
I recommend idealy having a supermatch with him, or beating him at MGC. I'm sorry you feel this way Al, and If in fact my ranking decision is costing you hundreds or thousands of dollars, contact me, show me this fact and for the sake of your aw career I ll move you back.

Chris, if you are arrogant enough to pull multiple classes and end up out of your scope in a heavier weight class and tired, you deserve to lose, same as ME in the heavies. I was bagged and got my ass wooped. We are not in the same weight class so why would I take your ranking? If I had been I would have had 15 matches as well and yes I would take your ranking?? Whos the better armwrestler?? Who cares we are not in the same weight class, end of!!
Allen and Brian are in the same weight class ranking wise. Allen beat Brian the last time they pulled in that weight class. Allen earns top spot. Do I think Brian will win the next? Probably, I dont think he is training that hard right now. The point we are making is if I beat someone, and YOU dont think I can do it again, I Lose My Spot???
This is then NOT an unbiased ranking. As stated before, Fact is stronger than opinion. If no fact available, then I can buy opinion based on other facts. Allen DROVE through the 187 class who were all fresh, Brian had the benefit of some used up arms due to the Previous days Master Class (which was epic!!!) Until next time they meet, I think Allen has earned 1st place.
